Meet Us at the 19th.

The round doesn’t end on 18, and neither should the day. The Stovehouse has entered a refreshed chapter as Suncadia’s modern clubhouse: a welcoming place where golfers, neighbors and guests come together after the round. Anchored by the new 19th Hole Menu, the experience is relaxed, social, and designed for connection.

Maria Stiles

Sous Chef at Stovehouse

Culinary Expertise
Maria Stiles launched her culinary journey at just 15 years old, working in a cozy breakfast diner on a military base in Germany. Over the years, she has refined her skills in prestigious James Beard Award-winning restaurants and vibrant family-run scratch kitchens across Texas and Washington. With diverse roles under her belt—including banquet chef, sous chef, front-of-house manager, event coordinator, and wedding planner—Maria brings a wealth of experience to her position at Stovehouse. She holds a degree from the Culinary Institute of America and a diploma in hospitality management, equipping her with the tools to excel in the culinary world.

Passion for Comfort Food
Specializing in elevated Southern comfort food, Maria takes immense pride in using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Her love for teaching shines through as she mentors aspiring chefs, blending her original dream of becoming an educator with her culinary career. Whether she’s guiding young adults in developing essential cooking skills or running engaging classes for children, Maria is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of culinary talent.

Community Engagement
Maria is actively involved in community outreach initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to sharing her culinary passion. She has participated in the Latin Food Festival in San Antonio, collaborating with renowned chefs to lead classes and food exhibitions. Her hands-on approach not only enriches her community but also fosters a love of cuisine among participants.

Culinary Philosophy
Food to Maria is an ever-evolving art form, and she believes that the learning process is lifelong. Growing up in a military family exposed her to an array of cultures and cuisines, deepening her appreciation for the diverse culinary landscape. With a focus on sustainability, she prioritizes local ingredients and cherishes the cultural roots behind each dish she creates.

Beyond the Kitchen
When she’s not in the kitchen, Maria enjoys hiking in the scenic Pacific Northwest and foraging for fresh ingredients. She is also passionate about food photography, capturing the beauty of her culinary creations. With a firm belief in work-life balance, she engages in yoga and mindfulness practices to stay grounded and inspired in both her life and work.

Join us at Stovehouse and experience the culinary magic crafted by Chef Maria Stiles, where each dish tells a story of passion, culture, and community.
